Family Vacation

Well, we took quite a vacation for Derrel's Spring Break. We drove through 13 states!!! We had SO much fun and the driving went by quickly without any meltdowns or bad weather.
First, we stopped by the Ernstroms'(friends from Utah). We stayed with them for one night in St. Louis. The next day we traveled on the Kansas City where Kim's Dad and step Mom live. We stayed there for 4 VERY enjoyable days. We went and visited both sets of Kim's grandparents. It was so much fun. Dad and Cyndee took extra great care of us while we were there. The girls LOVED getting to know so much family (now that they can remember them).
Next, we were off to Monroe, Louisiana for 4 days. Derrel's oldest sister lives there. The girls had so much fun with their cousins. They went on a paddle boat, fishing, jumped on the trampoline, played a lot of dress-up and horses, Derrel went jet skiing, we talked and had so much fun! Derrel, Kim, Lori and Ted also took a really fun day trip to Vicksburg, Mississippi. We went to dinner and learned more history about the Civil War.
Then, we drove to Nashville, TN where we stayed with another of Derrel's sisters. We only had a day there but managed to tour an old civil war house that was turned into a hospital during the war. It was so interesting. We are glad to be home and be with old friends and in our house but we had a BLAST!!! Here are some pictures of our trip. Enjoy!

That is so COOL that you were able to travel the US like that. I LOVE all the pictures. I miss all our Grandparents and wish I could see them more often. Jake and Kasey are really growing up. It's hard to picture them that old. WOW! Thanks for sharing on your blog. I LOVE IT!!!

I can't believe you made it all the way down to Lousianna and didn't make the trip to Houston! We would have loved the company. Anyways...I am super jealous I miss traveling like we did whilein WV. Maybe we will get to again someday. I am glad you had so much fun though.

Looks fun--you are a brave prego mama! (You're also brave to drive long distances right now with gas prices! They make me want to cry.) You look adorable, btw!

WOW! What the heck...13 states?! How neat that you got to see so much family along the way. What an adventure for you...especially while pregnant. You're much more brave than I am when I'm pregnant. Way to go! :)

Looks like everyone enjoyed the trip! And what a neat house your grandparents had! I didn't realize you were from MO. Mel went to medical school there (We lived in Kirksville and Cape Girardeau). We have fond memories of living there!

Good for you guys!! That's some crazy driving. We did something similar before Jacob was born and it was tons of fun. I'm glad the kids were so good! I love your pictures.

You must have great kids to travel so well like that - and for you to be pregnant at the same time! Looks like lots of interesting fun with all the historical destinations.
